I have an Olympus 5.0 megapixel digital camera and every battery I’m using, the camera just eats them. It takes AA batteries. The batteries I’m using now are basic Duracell’s. I’m looking for suggestions on the best brand of batteries that can give my camera more life. Thanks in advance!

Use NiMH rechargeables. The camera kit came with alkaline AA’s because they are cheap to show you that the camera works. Same reason it comes with a token 32 MB card.
The LCD screen on your camera eats up most of your battery power (as well as the flash and shooting movies). So, you should try to turn your screen off in-between shots and also limit how long you review your images.
Ordinary batteries are fairly useless (as you already know).
So, for longer battery life, you should either be using rechargeable NiMH batteries (2500mAh or higher capacity)…or non rechargeable Lithium batteries like Energizer® Ultimate Lithium (up to 8X more power than ordinary batteries) or…Energizer® Advanced Lithium (up to 4X more power).
p.s. the last 5MP Olympus camera was released in 2006, so yours is quite old and probably has lousy power management. Newer cameras today usually have much better power management. Some brands are better than others…
Two of my three digital cameras take AA’s. I use recharge batteries not only for the convenience of not having to run out and buy them but they last longer.
The ones I use are available at Wal Mart, Target, etc… complete with charger.
IMHO, the batteries are nicer than aa batteries
