I have used many cameras in 50+ years and am relatively computer knowledgable but this camera is the most COUNTER intuitive piece of equipment that I have ever had the displeasure to use. If you try to change certain settings it gives you a conflict warning WITHOUT telling you what the conflict is so you waste great amounts of time trying to make the change you want without a settings conflict !! (I have been unsuccessful thus far) Even something as simple as erasing images has been made more difficult than it needs to be.
Previously I had used the older OM4 cameras which were cutting edge as well as the research quality microscopes/optics so it is not as I am unfamilar with optics but the menu system on this camera is ridiculous and because of that it is simply too frustrating to use. The automatic focus does not always work and at those times I would like to focus manually but that is not possible with this camera. There is NO manual shipped with the camera but rather some weak orientation to the basic functions. One a positive note the LCD screen is very bright and makes viewing it outdoors far easier than I have seen with many other digital cameras/camcorders.
Years ago if this was available I would have recommended it only to my enemies but I cannot be that way now so I simply do not recommend it as there are other choices today that are far better and much less frustrating.
