I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 digital camera, and I’m getting ready to do some traveling in rather remote areas. I want to be able to charge my batteries (Li-Ion) with a solar charger or another device without having to find a wall outlet to plug into.
I figure the only way this would be possible is by using an adapter connected to a solar charger that can plug into the DC port on my digital camera. But does this port actually charge the batteries or just run the camera off of that power?
Or, is there another way for me to charge my Li-Ion batteries with solar power or something similar?
Has anyone else dealt with a similar issue before?
Thanks for you help!

Yes, if your camera was sold with a rechargeable battery, the power adapter charges it.
(Note: in many cameras, you can use rechargeable AA batteries. In that case, a power adaptor does not charge those batteries).
Easy way to check. Use your camera until the battery runs out.
Then put the adaptor. If later you can use the camera with no adaptor, it means it was charged.
