I am thinking about buying a digital camera but I am unsure of what to get. What is a good camera brand wise as well as megapixel and price? Thanks in advance.

That’s a pretty broad question, as there are so many different kinds of cameras- each with their own features that make them unique. I’m not a big Nikon fan (‘cept for their DSLRs), but the Canon’s are all solid (but often slow), and Panasonic is making some surprisingly good cameras these days (the FX01 for instance, with its 28mm wide angle and image stabilization is cool, and very inexpensive ($265)
But- narrowing it down to a standard compact (pretty small but not ridiculously tiny) range- there are two cameras that stand out. The Canon PowerShot SD700 IS (a.k.a Digital IXUS 800 IS). With built in image stabilization and high quality imagery- it’s arguably one of the best little cameras out there. The downside is that you’ll pay for it. (~$450).
Another great choice may be the Fuji F30. it’s the ONLY small camera that has a high enough sensitivity to take indoor pics without a flash- making for much more realistic and nice looking images. It also lasts forever on a charge (over 500 shots), and is very quick and responsive to use. (~$330). The slightly cheaper version of the camera- that’s almost the same is called the F20. It’s been announced, but is not yet available for sale.
ON top of all the basic features you may also want to look into cameras that have Anti-Shake DSP, this helps get rid of blurry pics due to bumps or simply your hand shaking, it definatly helps if your in a vehicle or on a boat. As for a company i think Casio is good to, i have one and am very happy with it.

Yes Go with digital camera. Should be at leas 5MP for better picture quality and of course Opt ical Zoom. more optical zoom means more clear close up pictures. so it should be at least 3 optical zoom. I have Sony DCS-200 it has 7.2MP and 3X optical zoom. It has very great features and very easy to use. This is my first Digital camera but It’s very easy to use and has very grate pictures during the day time and Night time.
its good to buy a digital camera…if u intend to get good quality pictures as the prime thing from ur camera..then u must be very strong with its lens quality…hence the best one would be canon cameras..they offerr you high quality pictures..any camera with 4megapixel or higher would be best for home use..it’ll be morethan enough to have a camera of four mega pixel..it delivers u high image quality and clarity…canon also offers price worthy features and easy to handle menus..whats more u can get out of a digital camera…so go DIGITAL…go CANON…
